The Otter African Trail Run is thrilled to announce Emperor Asset Management as presenting partner for the next 3 years. Like every association with the Otter, this partnership is founded on passion. Head of Wealth for Emperor Asset Management, Craig Turton, completed his first Retto in 2020 and has fallen head over heels in love with the magnificent stretch of wild coastline protected within the Tsitsikamma Section of the Garden Route National Park and the thrilling, world renown, trail that traverses it. Craig recognised a profound way of experiencing The Otter African Trail Run and the powerful synergies between this endurance endeavour and investing, risk management and life itself.
“Having done the Otter for the first time last year. The words I can use to describe the experience are breath-taking, iconic, challenging, professional, quality, best in class etc. During the race, you experience our beautiful landscape and nature as she is meant to be, untouched and spectacular. The views of the ocean, the streams you pass through, the waterfall, the quietness of being out there on your own, fighting your own internal demons while you are thinking of what is coming next. Is it another 400 steps to climb or a technical pass around a cliff? But at the end of it all, I thought back and just wanted to do it all over again.” Craig Turton Emperor Asset Management
This partnership is an enabler.
As organizers of The Grail of Trail, we are delighted to partner with an organization that is as professional as they are, who centre their business on relationships. One look at the inspiring imagery on Emperor Asset Management webpage endorses that we are kindred spirits, although it would take a brave athlete to be running their “route (growth) profile.” It’s evident that Emperor takes much of its inspiration from nature and relishes the adventure and meaning attained in the challenge faced and overcome whilst striving to reach goals out in the elements. This resonates with us. For the Otter team, this partnership is an enabler in our endless quest to remain the benchmark in sustainable marathon distance trail running in Africa.
We will achieve this by the continued focus and investment in an exceptional participant experience and our mission of accentuating the urgent need for wilderness conservation globally.
